Hi there, I’m LaTasha McMurry, also known as Ms. Mack, and I’m thrilled to welcome you to Educators HQ.
I have over 18 years of teaching, math education, intervention, leadership, and educator coaching experience. My work has always been rooted in one belief: students thrive when they feel supported, seen, challenged, and connected to what they are learning.
I am passionate about creating learning environments that are engaging, structured, culturally responsive, and meaningful, especially for secondary students. I believe students need strong instruction, positive relationships, social-emotional support, and opportunities to think critically, ask questions, make mistakes, and grow.
My Educational Background
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Sam Houston State University and a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Phoenix, with a focus on middle mathematics and curriculum.
My background in both communication and education has shaped the way I teach. I believe students need instruction that is clear, engaging, practical, and relatable. I also believe teachers need resources and strategies that are realistic, useful, and created with real classrooms in mind.

One thing I have learned over the years is that teaching is never one-sided. Teachers and students are always learning from one another. The best classrooms are built on relationships, trust, structure, creativity, and growth.

My Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is simple: students learn best when they feel connected, capable, and supported.
I believe learning should be challenging, but not discouraging. Students need teachers who can break down difficult concepts, build relationships, create safe learning spaces, and help them believe they are capable of success.
As an educator, my goal is to create learning environments that foster curiosity, creativity, confidence, and critical thinking while also nurturing each student’s social and emotional development.
I believe in teaching the whole child. That means supporting academic growth while also helping students develop responsibility, perseverance, self-confidence, problem-solving skills, and a positive mindset toward learning.

Educators HQ was created as a space for teachers, students, and parents to find support, ideas, resources, and encouragement.
